It is a small plastic or metal device that presses down the lid switch when the user closes the lid. The lid switch consists of two parts. If the lid switch or the lock doesn t work correctly and the lid lock light flashes the washer might need a replacement lid switch or lid lock. If it does not pass both of these tests the switch should be replaced.

The multitester should display a reading of infinity. Depress the button on the lid switch and the reading should change from a reading of infinity to roughly zero. Washer won t spin or drain. This prevents a cycle from spinning when the lid is still open and is also used to start your washer once a certain water level is reached.
