To release a stuck button try turning off the breaker in the main panel and leaving it off for five minutes.

I started the self cleaning last night and cancelled it hit clear short of the 4 hours. The door will still not open. Open the oven door and locate the door light button that the oven door pushes against. Newer models unlock automatically upon the cleaning cycle s end.

Less likely causes are a problem with the wiring or the main electronic control board. I have turned off the breaker for over 5 minutes and the door locked is still on the screen and the door is locked. Holding the lock button down often helps with a partially closed door or one that otherwise appears stuck. Usually we can get the door lock to go back to its home position by doing a series of steps.

This is not common. Move the locking lever situated just below the oven door handle to the left if your kenmore has a mechanical lock. If the washer door won t unlock the problem might be the main control board. The washer control may not unlock the door if the water level pressure switch indicates the washer is still full of water. Unplug the machine for 5 minutes to let it reset and then plug it back in and give it a try.
